In honor of my daughter’s 11th birthday (which was yesterday and the reason I’m really late posting this), I will write thirteen things I like/love/adore about her:
1. First and foremost…I love her good, generous heart! People have been less than nice with her at times, yet she continues to love them unconditionally, is forgiving and continues to do for/give to them.
2. Her intelligence…she has always self-taught through observation. I remember how she’d quietly watched all that went on around her, soaking up everything like a sponge. The light in her eyes held alot of promise.
3. Her quick wit…my oh my but for a young one, her tongue is quick. I remember one time being in the car on the way to a family function when hubby asks “Why do women wait to put their makeup until they’re in the car?” (yes, that’s what I was doing) My daughter answers “Because we want it to look fresh for our men!” I would never had thought of that..my answer would’ve been something along the lines of not having enough time.
4. Her literary abilities…through the years in school, and for pleasure, her usage of words has been a strength. She enjoys writing poetry, especially haikus, and setting them to pictures in a powerpoint presentation.
5. Her artistic thoughts…she was five when 9/11 happened and shortly after, drew a picture of what she “saw”: a tall building on fire, plane heading towards the building on fire, a cross and a person laying down next to the cross. My description does her picture no justice and once I find it, I will try to upload it into a post.
6. Her sense of humor: Good gawd, she is funny! Um, like right now, she is dancing to “When the saints come marching in!” on the cell phone! OMG!
7. A good sister: Though is younger by 4 years, nine months and 13 days, she acts the elder…she is very protective of her big brother and enjoys helping care for him.
8. Her dimple: She used to have two but the one on her left was not as deep as the right and it “faded away”.
9. Her long fingers: Part of her starfish shaped hands, they’re definitely good for playing the piano.
10. Her spidermonkey hugs: Due to her long limbs, she is able to give very loving hugs!
11. Her baby hairs: I love pulling back her long strands to reveal the “babies”..soft, sweet “hair-lings”.
12. Her personality: She can at times really beat to her own drummer but that’s what makes her unique. Can be quite a pistol at times but thank goodness is generally a good kid.
13. I love Brianne simply because she is one of my most precious gifts, a belated birthday gift, and truly blessed with many of her own.
